Learn from the best – and from each other – at this event, which will feature several SMPS Fellows from across the Midwest and Chicago. The Fellows of SMPS represent the highest level of experience and leadership and will be among the facilitators of discussions about marketing research and plans, client and business development, proposals, promotion and information management.
Melissa Lutz, FSMPS, CPSM: Principal/Marketing Director of Champlin Architecture. Champlin provides Architecture, Facilities Management, Interior Design, Planning, Structural Engineering Services.
Melissa Lutz is a Principal and the Director of Marketing at Champlin Architecture. A member of SMPS since 1992, she was named a Fellow of the Society in 2010. A Past-President of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter, Melissa was recently elected to the Chapter Delegate position on the Society’s Board of Directors. Melissa also serves as a board member of Greater Cincinnati Commercial Real Estate Women, and a member of the Advancement Committee for the Children’s Home of Cincinnati. Melissa has recently presented at the SMPS Build Business Conference, the AIA Ohio Valley Regional Conference, SMPS Greater Cincinnati, SMPS Northeast Ohio and The University of Cincinnati’s College of Business and has written articles on business development and marketing for various publications. Melissa was one of the Researchers and Authors for the SMPS Foundation’s recently-published book, A/E/C Business Development-The Decade Ahead.
David Werking, FSMPS, CPSM: Business Development Manager of Ermco. Ermco provides Construction, Construction Project Management, Design-Build Services, and General Contractors.
David has been an active member of SMPS for 18 years leading local, regional and national initiatives. Through his career he has experienced business development and marketing endeavors for architectural, engineering and construction firms. As Business Development Manager for ERMCO, an Indianapolis, IN based electrical and communications contractor, David creates strategies for pursuing and securing local and national project opportunities. David participates in many associations and community engagement activities. Currently, he is SMPS Heartland Region Steering Committee Chair, Indiana SMPS Mentor Program Co-Chair, and local community Chairman for Main Street Indiana group and Redevelopment Commission Board Member.
Anthony Steinhardt, FSMPS, CPSM: Principal of RATIO Architects Inc. Ratio provides Architecture, Historic Preservation, Land Planning, Urban Design.
As one of RATIO’s principals, Tony provides leadership relative to strategic client development, and identifies and cultivates opportunities for diversification with the education, community, life sciences, workplace, lifestyle and cultural marketplaces. Additionally, he has played an integral role in RATIO’s merger and acquisition activities including the firm’s mergers in 2006 and 2011. In 2012, he has directed RATIO’s strategic partnership with SMDP,LLC to leverage the firm’s design portfolio internationally throughout China, Korea and Vietnam while expanding RATIO’s presence in Chicago.
Deborah Finn, CPSM : Principal & Director of Marketing, Baxter & Woodman, Inc. Baxter & Woodman provides planning, design, construction and technology services for water, wastewater, stormwater and transportation facilities.
Deborah is a Principal and Vice President of Marketing at Baxter & Woodman, Inc. Baxter & Woodman, Inc. is an employee-owned Engineering News-Record Top 500 Design Firm which provides planning, design, construction and technology services for water, wastewater, stormwater and transportation facilities. Environmental, geographic information systems (GIS), water and wastewater operations, and advanced technology needs complement the firm’s civil engineering expertise. Municipalities, counties and state agencies are served from offices in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
Deborah has more than 30 years of experience in professional service marketing and manages the marketing efforts, including research, budget planning, business development, proposal generation, promotional activities, corporate communications and development of the firm’s annual Marketing Program. Deborah established the firm’s marketing business practices and developed a department of professionals who support 175+ employees working from seven regional offices. She earned the designation of Certified Professional Services Marketer in 2006 from the Society of Marketing Professional Services.
Kate Brannelly, FSMPS : Director of Marketing & Business Development, CTLGroup, Inc. CTLGroup provides engineering, testing and scientific services.
Kate Brannelly is responsible for the development and implementation of CTLGroup’s firm-wide business development, communication and promotion initiatives. CTLGroup is an internationally recognized expert consulting engineering and materials science firm that provides engineering, testing and scientific services to our clients in the Building & Facilities; Energy & Resources; Litigation & Insurance; Materials & Products; Transportation; and Emergent Solutions markets. Kate recently launched a comprehensive business development assessment process for evaluating marketing performance, delivering robust metrics and decision-making capabilities to executive management.
Ms. Brannelly has over 28 years of marketing and business development experience with regional and global architectural and multidisciplinary design firms. Ms. Brannelly brings a broad range of marketing, communications and business development expertise to CTLGroup, along with experience in the client-focused Practice Group marketing concept employed by the firm.
Prior to joining CTLGroup, she has served as CMO, Marketing Director, and Principal for several architecture and engineering firms in Chicago, Boston and Texas. Ms. Brannelly is a Fellow of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and has received numerous awards for her marketing leadership and branding concepts in the architectural / engineering / construction industry.
