Apply Today for the 2019 CPSM Scholarship

SMPS Chicago is currently accepting applications for our annual CPSM Scholarship. Which means now is your chance.

The CPSM Scholarship is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in obtaining their certification in the near future. It’s the Chapter’s way of supporting us.

As the Chicago Chapter’s 2017 scholarship recipient, I can say that it played a huge factor in earning my CPSM designation. I had seriously considered studying for the exam in the past but wasn’t sure where or when to start. In addition to the obvious financial support, I found that the scholarship offered me the encouragement and motivation I needed to push forward. It made it a priority for me.

I ordered the MARKENDIUM books immediately and started to actually see a finish line in sight. Though the Roadmap to Certification course is on hold for 2019, access to all six books, the MARKENDIUM LABS online course, and the CPSM study guide will provide you with all of the tools you need to pass the exam. Outside that, our Chicago Chapter has an entire network of CPSMs ready and willing to provide insight and advice.

Even though I’d been marketing in the AEC industry for nearly 15 years when I started reading the MARKENDIUM books, I still found them interesting and insightful. The entire process of earning my CPSM helped serve as a refresher on the intricacies of our craft. It made me proud to be part of this organization and  this industry. I’m grateful to SMPS Chicago for the support and encourage anyone interested to take advantage of this opportunity. Apply today!

Matt Dvorak, CPSM, Vice President of Marketing + Communications, Primera Engineers

SMPS Twin Cities April PD Workshop

SMPS Twin Cities has a Professional Development program you need to know about.

Professsional Development Workshop: The Leadership Dilemma - How to Unlock the Potential of the 4-Generation Workplace

The workplace has changed dramatically in the past 20 years. Technology, and a technology-infused generation of employees, has radically impacted workplace culture and performance, which has resulted in sending most old-school Boomer managers into a rant about "these Millenials!" The truth is that Millennials are NOT the problem. The real problem is a scarcity of effective leadership and a stubborn to refusal to move away from "the way we've always done it."

Effective leadership has always been a challenge, but today's workplace has tossed several additional variables into the equation, making it feel almost impossible to lead effectively. That is, unless you're willing to learn, grow, and adapt. In this presentation, Kelly takes a hard look at the realities of the modern workplace and offers tangible solutions to creating what every leader strives for - a culture of accountability.
