Panelists
David Bender, President and CEO, American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois
Dave Bender has served as President & CEO of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (ACEC-IL) since December 2012. In this role he advocates on behalf of 235 engineering firms representing 12,000 employees.  In 4 short years, Bender was elected by his fellow national colleagues as the President of the National Association of Engineering Council of Executives and served as a member of the ACEC National Board of Directors in 2017. Previously, Bender served in the Edgar Administration in various positions including Director of Advance and Events for Governor Jim Edgar, Deputy Campaign Manager for the Governor’s historic re-election in 1994, Assistant Secretary of the Illinois Department of Agriculture and chief of staff to the Illinois Lt. Governor in 1999.

Bender is the Co-Founder and and current Co-Chair of their Illinois Business Immigration Coalition, a business/advocate coalition working for comprehensive immigration reform to assist business owners.

 

Jay Case, Principal and Partner, Multifamily, CRG
As partner and principal CRG’s Multifamily business unit, Jay guides CRG’s residential and student housing developments, and growth strategy across the United States.  He oversees site selection, due diligence, financial structures and incentives, as well as the capital partner and stakeholder relationships for each of CRG’s multifamily projects. Jay has over twenty years of experience in the commercial real estate and residential development industry. Notable CRG developments that he has spearheaded include: the A.M. 1980 Residences, a 7-story multifamily housing complex with 132 units and 7,100 square feet of ground floor retail space in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood, the New Residences at Sheridan and Wilson, a 124,000-square-foot residential building with 150 units and 6,000 square feet of ground floor retail space located in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, the Everly on the Loop, a 14-story, award-winning student housing high-rise development with 209 units and 428 beds in St. Louis, and the Edge on Euclid, an 11-story student housing development with 240 units and 564 beds located next to Cleveland State University.

 

Marcus Evans, State Representative and Chairman of Transportation
Marcus Evans, Jr. represents the 33rd District in the Illinois House of Representatives. He was appointed in April 2012 to fill the vacancy of former State Rep. Marlow Colvin and is seeking re-election to a 4th term this November.

In addition, Rep. Evans is Chairman of the House Transportation Committee, responsible for a potential Capital Plan and a much-needed sustainable funding plan for our crumbling infrastructure in Illinois. Rep. Evans is a key member of TFIC’s Champions Caucus, a bi-partisan coalition of 15 House and Senate members that will be responsible for any potential increase in funding for Transportation and other areas of infrastructure.

 

Jesse Hyunh, VIATechnik, Technology Solutions Manager
Jesse is currently the Technology Solutions Manager at VIATechnik, a construction and engineering services firm transforming the construction industry through virtual design and construction by blending global human capital with cutting-edge construction technologies. At VIATechnik, Jesse is responsible for the technological innovations and processes that are crucial to the company's day-to-day operations and continual adoption of new technologies. Through Jesse's work in the technical division of the company, the firm is able incorporate effective workflows, technologies, and processes that allow for successes all the unique projects VIATechnik has executed. Some of these innovations include pushing the boundaries of BIM, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality on active projects throughout the United States.

Roshanna Tokh, Inside Sales Manager, Jacobs Engineering
The Inside Sales Manager for Jacobs Chicago office, serving the transportation and infrastructure sectors, Roshanna has 18 years of experience providing marketing and sales services in the A/E/C market.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications with an emphasis in Marketing from Northern Illinois University and her MBA in Management from North Central College. She has been an active member of SMPS since 2002 serving on many committees throughout the years, including as Secretary of the Board and currently as Past President.

Please insert the parking voucher into the automated machine at the garage in order to receive the discount of $14 for a max of 3 hours.
