About Our Speaker

Carol Sente is the owner and founder of Carol Sente Consulting, LLC, a Chicago-area leadership development company that serves professional service firms, local government and small businesses that rely on her to help them grow into positions of industry leadership. Carol is retained for her expertise in three key areas: Setting Your Strategic Direction, Selling Your Services and Sharpening Your People. She believes that an organization’s path to the next level of excellence is primarily achieved through people, and that smart organizations are proactive and consistent about assessing and developing their talent. Carol is a Certified Administrator in PDP (Professional DynaMetric Programs), an unparalleled behavioral profile tool that identifies leadership strengths, communication styles, energy level and the ability to adapt in rapidly changing environments.

Carol’s career has included 32-years in the built environment, having started her career as an Account Coordinator for JTC Advertising and later Marketing Coordinator for Sente & Rubel Architects. Over a 26-year time span, she rose within the firm’s ranks, later renamed SRBL Architects, and eventually became the firm’s President and Managing Partner. She led two successful firm ownership transitions, including the sale of her practice to FGM Architects in 2011. Carol spent three years overseeing the smooth transition of her team and clients to FGM and served as their Municipal Practice Area Marketing Principal before starting her own consulting practice in 2015. Carol holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with a marketing/advertising concentration from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She has served as an Illinois State Representative for the past eight years, as Vice President of the Vernon Hills Park District and as a nonprofit board member. Carol was a proud 23-year member of SMPS and served on numerous committees, including Chair of the Programs Committee.


Parking is available at the garage located across the street from Petterino’s at 181 N. Dearborn. When checking in for the program, please make sure you receive a parking voucher. Please insert the parking voucher into the automated machine at the garage in order to receive the discount of $13 for a max of 3 hours.

Student Membership Eligibility. Registration at Student rate be verified and if the registrant is found to be non-compliant with these requirements, s/he will be responsible for the balance of the full, applicable rate.
